Mini-Course on Graphs, Quantum Graphs and their Spectra + Walkshop 2009
This is a announcement of a Mini-Course and a Walk-shop which will be held at the Technische Universität Chemnitz September 15 through 18, 2009.Find the pdf-file of the poster for the Walkshop here.
The Mini-Course will feature talks on selected topics on
Graphs, Quantum Graphs and their Spectra
The format and the schedule will be as follows:
The course starts on Tuesday,
15. September at 14.00 and ends on Thursday, 17. September, evening. There will
be about five speakers giving two talks on a specific topic concerning graphs,
quantum graphs or their spectra. Each talk will be of 60-90 minutes length.
This will allow enough time to give an introduction, an overview over the
currents state of knowledge and selected ideas of proofs for the topic of each
speaker. This way the course should be attractive for PhD students, advanced
Diploma or Master students, and other interested participants who would like to
learn about or broaden their knowledge about graphs, quantum graphs and their
spectra.
The schedule will allow for ample discussions among the all participants: speakers, PhD students and other participants.
The speakers of the course will include
Michael Gruber (Clausthal)
Vadim Kostrykin (Mainz)
Olaf Post (Berlin)
Wolfgang Spitzer (Erlangen)
We would be grateful if you would pass on the information about the Mini-Course to your colleagues and PhD students.
Please let us know if you would like to attend in the Mini-Course.
A second announcement with a detailed schedule of the Mini-Course will follow later.
We would like to emphasise that the course will be followed by a Walkshop on Friday 18. September. Below you will find more information about this event as well as information about possible accommodation in Chemnitz.
With kind regards,
Daniel Lenz, Peter Stollmann, Ivan Veselic'

With the Walkshop 2009 we continue a tradition of events that took place in Clausthal, Chemnitz and G\"ottingen in recent years. The topics typically involve Mathematical Physics. The distinctive feature of the format is a hike that is supposed to enliven informal discussions between participants.
Daniel Lenz, Peter Stollmann, Ivan Veselic'
