Scientific English for Physicists

Winter term 2013/14

This is a continuation of the same lecture last term. Participation is open also to students who did not take part in that lecture.

It is the aim of the course to make students get more acquainted with the English language, by treating problems which may not all be of strictly scientific nature but are connected with the daily life in studying and afterwards. 

Certain topics are treated by me in lecture style, but followed by extensive discussions in the group. Lecture and discussions should be in English as far as possible. Students who want to get a certificate have to give a talk. In order to get credit for this course as a "Wahlpflichtfach" a participation during two terms is necessary.
