Thema: | Mathematical Background of the Anisotropic Mesh Adaptation Technique |
We deal with the numerical solution of boundary value problems on unstructured grids. Our aim is to generate a triangulation with as small as possible number of elements, where the given accuracy of the numerical solution is achieved. We present a theoretical background of the anisotropic mesh adaptation technique. We derive the necessary condition, which have to be fulfilled to achieve a given tolerance for any numerical method using unstructured meshes and further we give a hint how to control this necessary condition. We propose an efficient algorithm for the generation of a suitable triangulation satisfying the necessary condition. Presented numerical examples confirm theoretical determinations. | |
