Die Seminare am Freitag sind in erster Linie als Diskussionsforum gedacht, um die Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Gruppen der Forschergruppe zu fördern, es werden aber auch spezifische Vorträge auf diese Termine gelegt. Zusätzlich werden einige der Kolloquiumstermine in Chemnitz, Jena, Dresden, Köln und Heidelberg dazu genutzt, ausgewählte Gäste einzuladen.
