GESIS - Gesellschaft Sozialwissenschaftlicher Infrastruktureinrichtungen e.V.
Zentrale Aufgabe der GESIS ist die Unterstützung der sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschung. Zu den Dienstleistungen der GESIS gehören der Aufbau und das Angebot von Datenbanken mit Informationen zu sozialwissenschaftlicher Literatur und zu Forschungsaktivitäten sowie die Archivierung und Bereitstellung von Umfragedaten aus der Sozialforschung. Wichtige Funktionen sind auch die Beratung in Methodenfragen, die Entwicklung komplexer Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung sowie die eigenständige Dauerbeobachtung der gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen mit Hilfe dieser Instrumente. Die GESIS wurde 1986 gegründet und gliedert sich in die drei Abteilungen.

ESS - The European Social Survey
The European Social Survey (the ESS) is a biennial multi-country survey covering over 30 nations. The first round was fielded in 2002/2003, the second in 2004/2005 and the third in 2006/2007.
LIS - The Luxembourg Income Study
is a cross-national data archive located in Luxembourg. The LIS archive contains two primary databases. The LIS Database includes income microdata from a large number of countries at multiple points in time. The newer LWS Database includes wealth microdata from a smaller selection of countries. Both databases include labour market and demographic data as well. Registered users may access the microdata for social scientific research using a remote-access system. All visitors to the website may download the LIS Key Figures, which provide country-level poverty and inequality indicators.
PSID - Panel Study of Income Dynamics
This User Guide provides information on the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID). The 2003 PSID is a nationally representative sample of over 7,000 families. The PSID began in 1968 with a sample of 4,800 families and re-interviewed these families on an annual basis from 1968-1997. Since then, it has re-interviewed them biennially. Following the same families and individuals since 1968, the PSID collects data on economic, health, and social behavior.

Data and Statistical Services (DSS) is a part of the Social Science Reference Center in Firestone Library at Princeton University. DSS offers resources and assistance in finding, using, and analyzing social science data.
Statistisches Amt der Europäischen Gemeinschaften
Eurostat stellt Statistiken für die Länder der EU zusammen, die von den nationalen statistischen Ämtern der Mitgliedstaaten (in Deutschland: Statistisches Bundesamt, in Österreich: Statistik Austria) erhoben und zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Eine wichtige Rolle spielt Eurostat bei der Harmonisierung von statistischen Definitionen und Berechnungsmethoden. Dadurch stellt es z.B. sicher, dass die EU-Konvergenzkriterien in den einzelnen Ländern nach einer vergleichbaren Methodik ermittelt werden.
