Best Western Hotel Birkenhof - Chemnitz FEM Symposium 2009

This years symposium will be held in Best Western Hotel Birkenhof (in Oberwiesenthal). Arrangements have been made with the hotel to get a discounted rate of 56&euro per night (single room, including breakfast) for attendees of the FEM-Symposium. Room reservation will be part of the online registration form for the symposium. If you wish to book a room directly with the hotel, please make sure you mention that you are attending the FEM-Symposium, organised by the TU Chemnitz, when you make your reservation. As an alternative you may consider booking via an discount booking agent (e.g. hotelscombined) which may give you an even better rate. However, we decline any responsibility for such external services, and if problems with the room booking occur, you are on your own. Of course, if you book the hotel directly or externally, you should not book accommodation in our online registration form. Otherwise you may be charged twice. Journey ... ... by train/bus (1): Take the train to Chemnitz Hbf (timetable of Deutsche Bahn). Walk 5min from the train station to the bus station and take the bus 210 in direction Kurort Oberwiesenthal or Annaberg-Buchholz Busbahnhof. Alternatively you can also use the train to Annaberg-Buchholz. At Annaberg-Buchholz Busbahnhof you may change for bus 210 in direction Kurort Oberwiesenthal. You need a Preisstufe 5 ticket that costs 7,40€ for the trip from Chemnitz to Oberwiesenthal (or a Preisstufe 2 ticket (2,80€) for Annaberg-Buchholz to Oberwiesenthal). You can walk from Am Bahnhof, Oberwiesenthal to the hotel or you can take a taxi (call Mr. Plome +49 (0) 373-488510). Moreover, there will be a shuttle service by the hotel for the buses that arrive at Am Bahnhof, Oberwiesenthal at 16:20, 18:20 and 20:20 on Sunday, 27.09.2009 (3€ / person). To plan you individual trip you can use the website of Deutsche Bahn (use Am Bahnhof, Oberwiesenthal for your destination). ... by train/bus (2): You can go by train to Cranzahl and use the Fichtelbergbahn from there to go to Oberwiesenthal. ... by car: Use the B95 from Chemnitz in direction Annaberg-Buchholz and continue to Oberwiesenthal (ca. 55km from Chemnitz). For a detailed description from your location to Oberwiesenthal you can use a route planer (e.g. Google) or you can look at the journey informations on the website of the hotel (in german).
