Tips for successful studies

Self-organization

A laptop is on the table and a sheet of paper with a pen is ready.

Provide good conditions for motivated and independent learning.

Get an overview of the course structure at the beginning of the semester. Plan as precisely as possible how/when you will work on the planned learning modules.

Work on the planned learning materials regularly and in doses (as planned in the official schedule, if applicable).

Ensure that you have a structured daily routine and, particularly in the case of “passive” learning modules (e.g. videos), a distraction-free environment.

Exchange

Provide good conditions for motivated and independent learning.

Also - and especially - make use of opportunities for exchange with fellow students and teachers in digital teaching/learning formats (e.g. forum, e-mail, video conferencing).

Participate in possible exchange formats in an appropriate manner: e.g. take part in discussions in forums and video conferences.

Note that transparent and clear communication is particularly important if you do not see each other on a weekly basis.

Always ask questions if something is unclear

Don't despair on your own

Provide good conditions for motivated and independent learning.

Take enough time to get used to the new learning format. Also be understanding and patient with the teachers who have to set up new formats in a short space of time and try them out together.

Discuss any difficulties in understanding or other uncertainties in good time and report back any additional support needs and ideas.

Please also note the points mentioned under “Exchange”.
