Virtual Assistants

The sub-project on "Digital Assistants" focuses on software programs such as Bixby (Samsung), Alexa (Amazon), Siri (Apple), Cortana (Microsoft) or Google Assistant (Google), which can be used to control devices by voice. Digital assistants communicate in natural language with their human users, they complete tasks and provide information. With their help, human-machine interaction should reach a new level.

The project is interested in the technical development and social spread of artificial intelligence in society. For this purpose, ethnographic field studies, discourse analyses and interviews with experts are conducted.
