Teaching Portfolio

Dear students, materials and additional information regarding my lectures this term can be found on the corresponding OPAL websites. You will also find some potential topics for a Master's thesis on this page.

Wintersemester 24/25

  • Mathematical Image Processing
  • Höhere Mathematik 1 für MB

Thesis Topics

  • Generative Training for Finding Neural Representations
  • In this project, you will use generative models to obtain implicit representations of signals and images. These have the advantage that they are independent of the discretization and usually require only a few parameters. In particular, this allows excellent compression to be achieved, which is essential when working with large data sets.
  • Learning Mesh-Independent Ridge Regularizers
  • In this project, you will design filter-based regularizers for inverse problems that are as independent of the discretization as possible. This allows them to be used for more complicated problems where the data or unknowns are not given on a grid.
  • Convergence of Spatially-Adaptive Fixed-Point Iterations
  • In this project you investigate the convergence of fixed point interations in the context of learned regularization. In particular, the question arises as to which properties the spatial adaptivity must have for the method to converge.

Summersemester 24
