The completion of the new laboratory rooms and the possible concentration of the facilities of the Chair of Composite Materials in the Erfenschlag part of the university was taken as an opportunity to launch a new materials technology conference. Greetings from the rector and numerous representatives of scientific organisations introduced the event.

The lecture programme featured contributions from well-known experts from research and industry. A wide range of current issues in plant development were discussed over the 2 days.

The newly created laboratories and facilities of the Chair of Composite Materials could be visited.

A concert by the University Wind Quintet introduced the evening programme. After a champagne reception, the rich buffet was very popular.
