Short curriculum vitae

I have a Bachelor of Arts & Education in English Studies (BA.ED) from Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Nigeria and a Master’s degree in English Language & Linguistics (MA) from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria. I returned to the Department of English Studies of Adekunle Ajasin University in 2011 as lecturer, and have taught a range of courses in applied linguistics. I am a member of the International Communication Association (ICA), and a partner in the African Urban Youth Language (AUYL) research team – with its base at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.

Research interests

My interests stretch across areas in discourse analysis, sociolinguistics and Nigerian English phonology. My PhD research Phone-Phonology of Nigerian English: Ebira L2 focuses on the instances of social and phonetic triggers within the phonemic system of Ebira English vowels.
