Chemnitz University of Technology’s Dr. Stefanie Müller is receiving the 2019 ARD/ZDF Women + Media Technology Award

Dr. Stefanie Müller, research associate and television studio manager at the Professorship of Media Informatics (Prof. Dr. Maximilian Eibl) at Chemnitz University of Technology, is receiving the 2019 ARD/ZDF Women + Media Technology Award. The ARD.ZDF Media Academy made this announcement on 17 July 2019. Müller is one of altogether 3 award winners, and she is receiving her award based on her dissertation on “The systemisation and identification of sources of interference and disturbance in historical video materials via the digitised video collection of local television stations in Saxony”, which she wrote at Chemnitz University of Technology. Müller is the first from Chemnitz University of Technology to win this award. The award ceremony will take place on 6 September 2019 in Berlin.

“There were so many impressive works submitted by other women this year, that I honestly did not expect to win this award. I am very thankful to have been nominated and to receive this award. It is fantastic that there are people committed to making this award possible. I can only encourage other female scientists out there to apply for the award,” says Dr. Müller.
