Open Licences
Based on copyright law, open licenses concede extended usage rights or exclude certain actions. Institute for Legal Issues regarding Free and Open Source Software (ifrOSS) provides an overview over the following categories within a license center:
Creative Commons-licenses
The CC-licenses have developed to global standard. By the concession, you approve that your contents may be copied, disseminated, processed and being integrated in new elaborations, all within the scope of the copyright law in the current version. The licensor keep their copyright on their elaborations and have to be indicated in any case. The link to the license text has to be added.
The licenses are available in three layers – a human-readable version (commons deed), a machine-readable version and as license agreement.
The selection of the appropriate license is supported by a licence generator. Chemnitz University of Technology and the University Library recommend the open-definition-complying licenses CC BY and CC BY-SA.
