PhD positions in data-driven homogeneous catalysis starting October 2025:

The Teichert group at TU Chemnitz is looking for potential PhD students within the framework of the EU doctoral network CATALOOP. The CATALOOP network brings together several groups from all over Europe in the fields of homogeneous catalysis, computational and theoretical chemistry and aims at broad training in synthetic chemistry as well as data-driven optimization of stereoselective catalysts. The projects in the Teichert group revolve around asymmetric homogeneous catalysis with 3d metals.

If you are passionate about synthetic molecular chemistry and catalysis and are eager to learn computer-based methods to systematically develop and improve chiral catalysts, then please consider applying for the start of the training program in the fall of 2025.

Applicants should bring

  • experience in organic synthesis (ideally under inert conditions) and homogeneous catalysis
  • motivation for learning computer-based methods for data-driven catalysis research
  • international experience
