Duration

05/2019-03/2023

Topic

As a follow-up project to KIVI, this research project continues to investigate the cooperation of automated vehicles in mixed traffic with vulnerable road users, especially in regard of cyclists. Complex urban scenarios in a low speed range (parking areas) will be analysed regarding the implicit or explicit interaction between the participating road users. Among other aspects, the project adresses the characterisation of interaction scenarios as well as informal and explicit communication and interaction parameters of the involved actors. Implications for the development of automated vehicles will be derived from these results, in particular which signals indicate cooperation and how these signals should be parameterised.
