Sponsor

Duration

10/2011-09/2013

Description

Based on a literature survey regarding workzones on German motorways, expert and user studies will be conducted to identify those parameters that impose the highest load on drivers while passing through workzones, as well as to identify specific information needs that arise and that might help to reduce load and indrease safety. The findings will be used to design a driving simulator study that explicitly manipulates these parameters to test the hypotheses that resulted from the first project steps. Goal are recommendations for improved work zone designs and rules, as well as for the presentation of information regarding these work zones.
