Project Ikon

Projcet Ikon is the IT cooperation network of the TU Chemnitz to strengthen the border region between Saxony and the Czech Republic. IKON would like to qualify IT students to become practically-oriented specialists for cross-border industry. Together with the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University (UJEP) in Ústí nad Labem, the TU Chemnitz has the following goals in mind:

PRACTICAL QUALIFICATION OF STUDENTS
Students familiarize themselves with the latest trends in a technology-oriented practical module and thus prepare effectively for industrial developments in the sector.

ESTABLISHMENT OF A JOINT MOBILE LABORATORY FOR NETWORKING
A joint, mobile laboratory is available to both project partners for practical exercises and demonstrations.

QUALIFICATION OF DOCTORAL CANDIDATES FOR MANAGEMENT TASKS
Doctoral candidates can prepare for management tasks with systematic coaching, management introductions and explanations of scientific working methods.

IMPROVING COOPERATION IN THE BORDER AREA
With IKON, not only are social and regional barriers systematically overcome, but also the transfer of know-how at the interface between education, business and society is promoted and expanded.
