Thanks to the combination of aspects of electronic and sensor technology, of computer science and measurement data processing as well as medicine this degree program takes into account the newest requirements for engineers in medical technology to develop innovative and future-oriented medical devices. By the combination of electrical engineering and computer science this degree program differs from the degree program in Medical Engineering which focuses on the mechanical engineering aspects as well as from degree programs of that kind at other universities.

Study Content

  • basic knowledge in mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, computer science, medicine and electronic materials
  • in-depth modules on the areas of electrical engineering, computer science and medicine
  • internship in an enterprise or research institution dealing with medical technology

 

In the light of demographic change and the fast progress of technology in the medical sector graduates have got bright professional perspectives. They are employed by medical technology industry, by research institutions and hospitals dealing with the development of innovative products and software systems, the maintenance of medical devices, quality management, risk analysis or consulting.
