The Institute of Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the University of Graz is looking for an *** University Assistant with doctorate *** (40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for a period of 6 years; to be filled as soon as possible) The position is part of the faculty staff and independent of particular third party funded projects. Responsibilities of the position holder will comprise research in applied mathematics as well as teaching and administrative duties. The research focus is on analytical and numerical problem settings in the context of inverse problems and mathematical imaging, in particular in connection with concrete applications in nanosciences. Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in a mathematical branch of study, and in particular solid knowledge in analytical and numerical aspects of variational methods as well as good programming knowledge (e.g. in Python, C++). The classification of this position according to the University Collective Agreement is B1, with a minimum salary of around EUR 53254 per year.
