Technology Round Table of the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce Visits the Professorship
On 17 November, another technology roundtable on the topic of „Thermal Coating Technology“ took place at the Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering. The Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the SAXEED start-up network together with the coating experts invited guests to the Erfenschlag campus.
In an overview lecture, Professor Thomas Lampke first presented the profile of the chair in teaching, research and transfer. In two technical presentations, Dr Thomas Lindner and Gerd Paczkowski showed results and starting points for further R&D work based on the topics of thermal spraying and laser build-up welding. During the tour of the laboratories, around 20 company representatives from the region of south-west Saxony gained an insight into the experimental equipment and capabilities of the Chair of Materials and Surface Engineering. An in-depth discussion at the demonstrators promoted dialogue and highlighted interfaces for cooperation between science and industry. A number of participants stated that they would like to make even greater use of the opportunities for cooperation in the future. The regular joint technology roundtables are thus an ideal opportunity to promote the transfer of results and knowledge from the university to application.
