The surface of the future
Professor Thomas Lampke in an interview with Oerlikon AG: „Today's materials science and engineering opens up new possibilities through intelligent combinations of materials and processes.“
More functional, more resistant, but also smaller and lighter - the demands on modern components could not be more contradictory. In his interview with Oerlikon Management AG at the beginning of 2019, Prof. Lampke explains how these contradictions can be countered with new surface technology. In doing so, he emphasises combinatorial processes to expand the areas of application and limits of use of components and to extend their lifetimes.
