Main research areas
The focus of the research activities of the Professorship Virtual Production Engineering is on the one hand on the further development of production processes in the field of forming technology. This includes the design and simulation of forming processes for component development and process optimization.
On the other hand, integrated product and process modeling for the planning and control of process chains in development and manufacturing is another research area. This includes the representation of product manufacturing process chains as business process models as well as the consideration of data handling over the entire product lifecycle.
