Orientation Semester for prospective external Master students
Please fill out the Learning Agreement after after you have discussed your courses with Studienberatung and send it to the Vorsitzender des Prüfungsausschuss, the professor who the Head of the Examination Board. He will archive it and hand you a copy that you sign and keep until the end of the semester, so that your results can be added to your record (together with your previous course results).
You can make changes during the semester, but for that you need the signature of the professor's signature again (and a good reason why you changed). Make sure you do not select too many courses so that you can do them will. If you dot complete all the courses with grades this is o.k., but make sure that you achieve at least 20 ECTS points during your orientation/pre-semester.
You should also be aware of the fact that the pre-semester allows you to get more experience in English studies at Chemnitz, but it also means that you will not complete your MA after 4 but after 5 semesters, because you just have one semester more at the beginning of your studies and join the regular programme from October onward.
Registration
If you do not study at TUC and would like to gain more experience and to increase your chances of being accepted for the regular MA programme the next Winter Semester, you can apply to TUC and the Examination Board can help you to register as an MA English student.
If you study a different subject (not English) at TUC, you stay registered in the other subject and hand in your learning agreement (with the results of the classes you took) to the English professor at the end of the semester.
