Academic Writing for Graduates from SE Europe

Academic Writing for graduates from South-Eastern Europe (AW4SEE) is a project funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) that started in 2013 and continued in 2014. The project united universities from Germany (Chemnitz), Albania (Vlore), Macedonia (Bitola, Ohrid, Skopje) and Montenegro in the preparation of graduate students for one of the most decisive aspects of scientific publication - academic writing. The project partners carried out two workshops and two summer schools and produced a wide range of materials such as presentations and exercises for teaching good academic practice, metadiscourse conventions, and coherent and cohesive writing. The rich program during the events also raised the participants' cultural awareness of the many differences and perhaps even more similarities among the South East European countries.
