The Professorship for Humans and Technology deals with interactions between humans and machines. On the one hand, we investigate how human behavior is shaped by the technology that they encounter in their everyday lives. On the other hand, we contribute towards the development of machines that are compatible with user requirements. Our overarching motivation is to understand how task-relevant information can be effectively transferred between psychological and engineered systems. Hence, enabling effective human-machine partnerships. Our interdisciplinary department researches and communicates across the fields of psychology, neuroscience, computer science, and human factors.
