Curbing the Spread of Coronavirus with a University-Designed Mask
Reusable mouth-nose cover will be available starting 11 May 2020 at the Uni Shop and Universitas Bookstore

Wearing a mouth-nose cover, e.g. on public transport and when shopping, has been part of everyday life since the end of April 2020. In addition, every person is obliged to carry a mouth-nose cover and to wear it in case of (possible) personal contact under 1.5 meters on all properties (including parking lots and paths) at Chemnitz University of Technology. This regulation serves as an important hygiene measure in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which can cause serious lung diseases and lead to death.
Reusable Chemnitz University of Technology masks can be purchased in the Uni Shop at Chemnitz University of Technology starting 11 May 2020. The dark green masks, which bear the logo of Chemnitz University of Technology, are attached to the ears with elastic bands. The material (outside 100% polyester; inside 100% cotton) allows repeated washing and ironing at 60 °C. The masks are sold as one size and are offered at a price of 3.90 Euro each. For three or more masks, the price drops to 3.40 Euro each.
The masks can be ordered online in the Uni Shop. Alternatively, they can be purchased on campus at Universitas Bookstore, Reichenhainer Straße 55, during business hours (Mon - Fri, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.).
Please note: In addition to covering your mouth and nose, you must observe the other hygiene and protection regulations (update: 3 June 2020) at Chemnitz University of Technology! One of the most important rules is to keep your distance - at least 1.50 metres to other people!
