"Everybody for Himself, Yet Together"
Running enthusiasts at Chemnitz University of Technology can compete in the WiC self-running company race in September 2020 - registration is possible until 17 August - university running shirts are available starting 24 August
Due to the Corona pandemic, the Chemnitz company run this year will take place with an alternative event concept with the motto "Everybody for Himself, Together." In the so-called "WiC Selbstläufer-Firmenlauf 2020," registered runners can run a self-chosen distance of five kilometres between 1 September and 30 September 2020 under their own steam and in compliance with the distance rules. The running times can be determined by means of a stopwatch, GPS watch or fitness or tracking app and then uploaded to the company run website. This results in a daily updated result service, including a personal certificate for download.
Those who improve their running time during the month of September can upload their new results as often as they like. The scoring period ends on 30 September. In addition to various service offers, a "Strava-Club" will be created online in order to find those runners who have contributed the most kilometres throughout September. Thus, the WiC self-running company run - despite the current situation and the associated restrictions - offers running enthusiasts, students, and employees of Chemnitz University of Technology an opportunity to engage in sporting activities and at the same time present Chemnitz University of Technology in the city. All students, trainees, alumni, friends and sponsors as well as employees of Chemnitz University of Technology are called upon to run for their university and to document their participation in the best possible way. The organizer (Die Sportmacher) has adapted the scoring regulations (german page) of the self-running company race to the special features of the event.
Registration for the Chemnitz Company Run is possible online until 17 August. Starting 19 August the organizer will send out the documents. The participation costs 17 euro (plus VAT) per person. As a long-standing partner of Chemnitz University of Technology, Techniker Krankenkasse is again providing free university running shirts this year (while supplies last). For runners from Chemnitz University of Technology who participate in the company run in the official university running shirt, the university will again refund the entry fees. Applications for reimbursement of entry fees and the sending of a running shirt can be submitted immediately to the Event Organisation and Merchandising Department at Chemnitz University of Technology, upon presentation of the confirmation of registration. The processing of the applications as well as the dispatch of the shirts will take place from calendar week 35.
For spontaneous participants, the organizer also allows late registration until 24 September, when the starting documents will be sent out directly after booking.
