FC³ Fuel Cell Conference Chemnitz: "Clean Drives. Efficiently produced."
Chemnitz Conference on Fuel Cells will take place on 23rd and 24th of November 2021 – Chemnitz University of Technology will be present with numerous contributions - Registration deadline: November 12, 2021.
The HZwo e.V, Chemnitz University of Technology and Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU once again invite to the scientific Chemnitz Conference on Fuel Cells on 23rd and 24th of November 2021. The FC³ Fuel Cell Conference Chemnitz has the motto "Clean drives. Efficiently produced." and will address aspects of fuel cells suitable for series production and their drive system, as well as efficient manufacturing using state-of-the-art production processes. Prof. Dr. Thomas von Unwerth, Head of the Professorship of Advanced Powertrains at Chemnitz University of Technology and chairman of the Board of HZwo e.V, and Prof. Dr. Welf-Guntram Drossel, executive director at Fraunhofer IWU, the organizational threads come together. The conference will take place at the Carlowitz Congress Center Chemnitz.
The conference participants can expect international expert presentations from the fields of production, fuel cell drives, electrolysers, fuel cell stacks, components and systems as well as keynote speeches from Hydrogen Europe, the National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW GmbH), BMW and Toyota, among others. The conference program also includes numerous speakers from the Chair of General Psychology and Human Factors and the Chair of Advanced Powertrains at Chemnitz University of Technology, who will provide insights into their current research projects.
Registration for the conference is possible until November 12, 2021. Members and affiliates of Chemnitz University of Technology can participate at the Hzwo membership price.

Background: FC³ Fuel Cell Conference Chemnitz and Saxon Innovation Cluster “HZwo - Drive for Saxony”
The FC³ Fuel Cell Conference Chemnitz is organized by the Saxon innovation cluster “HZwo - Drive for Saxony”. HZwo is committed to establishing a value-added and research network on the topics of fuel cells and green hydrogen. The innovation cluster HZwo initiates cross-thematic and interdisciplinary R&D cooperation projects for new products, processes and services of the partner companies. To this end, it makes use of subject-specific and open-topic funding programs at the state, federal and EU levels. In the projects initiated by HZwo, new processes and solutions are developed which can be applied beyond the individual project to other branches of industry and provide the potential for new company start-ups. The Chemnitz University of Technology is involved in several research projects, including HZwo STACK as well as research projects of the project initiative HZwo-FRAME. Most recently, HZwo gained attention as coordinator of the successful application for the German Hydrogen Innovation Center (HIC).
Keyword: Fuel cell technology
Fuel cell technology as an efficient and CO2-neutral vehicle drive has received a new boost with the series production vehicles from Hyundai, Toyota and Honda. Hydrogen propulsion with fuel cells meets modern mobility requirements for low emissions and long ranges with short refueling times. However, the infrastructure for hydrogen supply is the main obstacle to a widespread breakthrough. In addition, the reduction of the currently high production and material costs is the greatest challenge to be met.
