Funny competitions and a whole lot of music

On 20 May 2014 TU Chemnitz invites to the Campus and Sports Festival - the wide range of events under the motto "With eight disciplines around the world" ending with a party in the dining hall

Again, this year’s Campus and Sports Festival at Technische Universität Chemnitz will bring a lot of fun before the sporting ambition. Under the motto "With eight disciplines around the world" on May 20, 2014 five teams dressed in the funny outfits and assigned with different nations will be able to test their endurance, coordination, knowledge of the world’s countries and team spirit. There are also basketball, badminton and beach volleyball tournaments on the program. Registration for all contests is possible via the event homepage or on May 17, 2014 during the Info Day in the dining hall on campus. There is also the chance to take part in three track and field disciplines and acquire the sports badge. For these competitions you can register on location.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Fasbender, the Vice-Rector for Teaching and Learning at TU, will open the festival at 13 o’clock on the stage near the dining hall. In the afternoon perform the TU BigBand, "Ex-Boygroup United" from Chemnitz and "Still Trees" from Zwickau. At 14 o’clock starts a fashion show of the latest Uni-Shop Collection. Moreover, exhibitors will provide a wide of range of products. The award ceremony of the best athletes starts at 18:30.

However, entertainment will be provided not only on stage. At 13 o’clock will take place various competitions, such as human table soccer tournament, a snail race, a slackline contest as well as a summer biathlon, a frisbee and a table tennis competition near the dining hall. We won’t forget to cater for your physical well-being during the festival. Alongside the aforementioned activities, there will be the opportunity to participate in a 20-minute free test drive with fuel cell vehicles till 18 o’clock on the forecourt of the main lecture hall building.

At 22 o’clock the curtain falls for the party night in the dining hall of TU Chemnitz, which is organized by the Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau. On three floors DJ Falko Rock, DJane Tereza and DJ Fouque will play music for every taste in order to round off a strenuous day in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. There will also be live music from Chemnitz Band "Too Little Cage". All students and staff of TU Chemnitz, as well as citizens of Chemnitz are invited to this year’s Campus and Sports Festival on campus at Thüringer Weg.

Admission is free. So that the students take part in the festivities, no courses will be held starting from 13 o’clock.
