Precision on Track
On 22nd and 23rd September 2014 will be held the 12th Web Guiding Seminar at TU Chemnitz – registration is still possible
What sounds like a training for athletes has nothing to do with sports: Web Guiding Seminar is organized by the Professorship for Print and Media Technology at Technische Universität Chemnitz and will be held on 22nd and 23rd September 2014. In content, it is focused on every process during printing or coating that is crucial for transportation of the printed materials. Though, the related requirements demonstrate that it might have parallels to athletics: the speed is just as important as a straight run of the paper or rollstocks. Swinging and fluctuations are not permitted. The right tensile strength is also crucial, because the material to be printed must neither be sagging, nor to be stretched or tear. Precision and the correct amount of force should be continually adapted to new printing and coating technologies.
In Chemnitz, this seminar brings together developers, users and scientists from the printing industry and the related areas since 1989. Web Guiding Seminar is now regarded throughout Europe as one of the most important interdisciplinary meeting points in the field of web guiding. This year, in their ten lectures, the speakers from various universities, nonuniversity research institutions and companies will deal with issues related to substrate transport, measuring technique and machines. Besides, the day before the conference, on the 22nd of September, there will be a commercial exhibition and a get-together with guidance through the Schloßberg Museum Chemnitz.
