Third episode of TUCtalk now online

Fascination lightweight construction: Prof. Lothar Kroll, Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Cluster of Excellence “MERGE” answers all questions and gives insight into the research work of the Clu

In the third episode of the video-format “TUCtalk” features the CEO of the Federal Cluster of Excellence “MERGE” of the Chemnitz University of Technology, Prof. Lothar Kroll. MERGE is nationwide the first and only Federal Cluster of Excellence in the field of lightweight construction research. Aim of the research is the fusion of large-scale suitable basic technologies from the fields of plastics, metal, textile and Smart Systems for the development of resource-efficient products and production processes. In this episode, Prof. Kroll illustrates the projects and innovative composites that are the current research work of more than 100 researchers and technicians. Furthermore, he reports on the impressive international standing of the Federal Cluster of Excellence and gives an optimistic forecast for the future. The film footage was taken inside the new MERGE Technology Center at the university site“Reichenhainer Straße”.
