ChemCon2017: Establishing contacts made easy
60 companies inform students, alumni, and anyone interested on career opportunities and vocational prospects in the auditorium building from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m., on November 15, 2017
What vocational prospects do I have with my university degree? Which companies are potential employers and what qualifications do I need? These and other questions regarding the future career become even more important at the end of studies. Students and alumni can get answers at first hand from employers at the career fair ChemCon2017 in the auditorium building, Reichenhainer Straße 90, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. on November 15, 2017.
With the fair, the Career Service of Chemnitz University of Technology seamlessly ties in with the positive development of the last years. “I am very glad that it was once again possible to bring future specialists and potential employers together for the career fair ChemCon to simplify the career start”, says Prof. Gerd Strohmeier, President of Chemnitz University of Technology. Guided by the motto “Dein Tag. Deine Chance.” (“Your Day. Your Chance.”), not only numerous local companies such as the fairs premium partner community4you AG, IAV GmbH, or KOMSA Kommunikation Sachsen AG, but also nationally and internationally known businesses will be at the fair, for example, Continental Automotive GmbH, Bauerfeind AG, or NXP Semiconductors Germany GmbH. A total of 63 employers from various branches offer a wide range of job opportunities for students of all faculties.
The ChemCon2017 offers aside from the regular fair program also a diverse accompanying program. Students have the opportunity to take application photos with a professional photographer for free, or to have their application documents checked at the “Speed-BU-Check” by experts from the Career Service and the academic team of the Agentur für Arbeit. In short workshops, eXXcellent solutions inform on employer reviews and the A.S.I Wirtschaftsberatung on the secret to success in applications – interested students can register for their participation at http://mytuc.org/start. Chemnitz University alumni will report on their career start and work history. Furthermore, “Jobwalls” show available jobs, internships, and thesis proposals.
The university management supports the ChemCon2017 as an important part in the cooperation between economy and university. “Support in the transition of students and alumni into the work life is a vital role of the university management overall, the Vice President Office for Transfer and Academic Qualification, and the Career Service. Thus, I am very happy that the career fair ChemCon takes place for the 24th time and that students, alumni, and potential employers have the opportunity to establish contacts and present themselves”, says Prof. Uwe Götze, Vice President for Transfer and Academic Qualification at Chemnitz University of Technology.
