German-Brazilian research network reinforced
Chemnitz University presented research activities from the field of intelligent sensors and structure lightweight design in the framework of a bi-national symposium of the Alexander von Humboldt Found
This year, the 8th Brazilian-German Frontiers of Science and Technology Symposium (BRAGFOST) took place from the 5th to 8th October, 2017, in Potsdam. BRAGFOST is a renowned discussion format only open to distinguished researchers and postdocs with extensive expertise in their respective research fields. Each lecture has the character of a keynote presentation, thus supporting the exchange across disciplinary borders and a particularly high degree of interdisciplinarity.
“The BRAGFOST symposium series is an extraordinary and inspiring forum for the mutual exchange of ideas and knowledge across the borders of individual disciplines”, says Prof. Olfa Kanoun, Professorship for Electrical Measurements and Sensor Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology. Together with her colleague Prof. Gabi Celani (University of Campinas) from the architecture field, she headed the last two sessions of this series in Campinas/Brazil and Potsdam.
Subjects around sustainability in the fields of “Hybrid Climate Control for Buildings”, “Multifunctional Integration and Lightweight Construction Structures”, “Urban Agriculture”, and “Energy Harvesting” were discussed at this year’s symposium.
