Celebrating in Cap and Gown
The next Chemnitz University Graduation Celebration Event will take place on November 3rd, 2018 – Registration is open until October, 14th, 2018

Anyone who successfully completed their degree program or doctorate at Chemnitz University of Technology in the 2018 summer semester will have the chance to reflect on this occasion on Saturday, November 3, 2018. On this day, the annual Graduation Celebration Event will take place. All registered graduates will experience an unforgettable ceremony with their families and friends in the St. Petri Church lasting from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Entry starts at 12.30 p.m.
Following the welcoming speech of the University President Prof. Gerd Strohmeier and greetings from representatives of the City of Chemnitz, the program centers around celebrating and honoring all graduates. Musical accompaniment is provided by the Collegium musicum orchestra. Poetry slammer Erik Leichter will also perform at the event. At the end of the Celebration Event, all graduates will come together for the traditional group photo with the University President.
Registration for the Graduation Event is open until October 14, 2018, at https://www.tu-chemnitz.de/tu/veranstaltungen/graduiertenfeier/anmeldung.php. It is possible for all graduates to borrow a cap and gown for the ceremony for a fee. Participation in the festivities is free of charge for all graduates. Accompanying persons pay a contribution of 10 euros to share the cost of the event.
If guests wish to commemorate this special day, individual pictures of the graduates with friends and family can be taken by a professional photographer.
