Celebrating an Interdisciplinary Degree Programme in Humans and Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology
On 15 June 2019, the degree programme “Sensors and Cognitive Psychology” (“SeKo”) at Chemnitz University of Technology will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a large convention, titled “10 Years SeKo”. The convention will take place in the Chemnitz city centre at Hotel an der Oper. It is primarily geared towards alumni, students and instructors of the SeKo degree programme, but everyone who feels connected to the degree programme is cordially invited. Registration is available online.
Honouring its unique mixture of psychology, physics, and technology, the SeKo bachelor’s degree programme was awarded a Teaching Award last year by Chemnitz University of Technology. The success of “SeKo” is not only reflected in satisfaction with teaching – SeKo graduates have excellent career opportunities thanks to their expertise in a large variety of fields. Particularly in the area of research and development, which often involves interdisciplinary teams, interdisciplinary skills are more in demand than ever before. The SeKo bachelor’s programme lays the foundations for these skills, and the SeKo master’s programme further extends them.
The numerous job prospects offered by the SeKo programme will be on display at the convention, as nine SeKo alumni, who are now working in various fields will be presenting. They reflect a variety of employment opportunities, such as regional start-ups, well-known commercial enterprises and renowned research institutions. Numerous other SeKo students and alumni have registered for the convention in order to exchange experiences, gather perspectives for their own career path, or simply to reconnect with colleagues. The response to the convention is overwhelming – over 100 participants have already registered. More information is available online.
