Project Duration

Description

The RESONANZ project aims to develop and validate a comprehensive AI-supported voice analysis app that seamlessly integrates along the entire treatment process for anxiety disorders and depression. The app accompanies both patients and therapists through all treatment steps: initial evaluation and therapy selection, appointment scheduling, symptom monitoring during treatment, and personalized therapy support between sessions. Additionally, AI-based vocal biomarkers will be identified and monitored throughout the therapy process to objectify diagnostics, therapy selection, and symptom change prediction in psychotherapy. This is intended to enhance treatment success and motivation.

The focus of the Chair of General Psychology and Human Factors is on researching ethical and value-oriented challenges during app development. Ethics-by-design principles will be developed and applied, ensuring that the most relevant values from the users' perspective are reflected in the interaction with the app (e.g., data protection, autonomy).

Another focus is on designing user interfaces that are accepted and rated as user-friendly by both patients and therapists, while providing the necessary customization options and ensuring a high level of privacy. The research will also explore strategies to increase trust in AI-based recommendations and how genuine collaboration between patients, therapists, and the AI-based RESONANZ app can be promoted.
