Annual events

Every year, the faculty of mathematics at Chemnitz University of Technology invites you to vivid lectures, hands-on exhibitions, math laboratories and student team competition in the lecture hall building. We not only want to convey to people the joy of their own mathematically creative considerations, but also to explain the variety of areas of application and the great interest of business and industry in mathematically experienced employees.

Traditionally, a Christmas lecture is organized by the faculty of mathematics in December. It is always about a mathematical topic that is presented in a playful and understandable manner for a general public. The Christmas cover should certainly not be missing.

Whether puzzle games, scientific phenomena and exhibitions from the fields of technology and robotics, at the interactive exhibition "Experience Mathematics & Technology" there is a lot to discover and to be surprised by. In March, the creative center of Chemnitz University of Technology in cooperation with the faculty of mathematics invite all curious and interested people to participate.

Twice a year (January and May), the doors open at the Chemnitz University of Technology for students from schools who want to start a bachelor’s program, for students and graduates of all universities who are aiming for a master’s degree, and for the interested public. The faculty of mathematics participates to both the events. In addiction, lectures are offered on study options at the faculty or on some interesting mathematical topics.

The Chemnitz University of Technology invites you to the Long Night of Science in May. At the university campus you can experience the fascination for research and teaching. The faculty of mathematics participates with stands and with lectures, according to the research fields of the various professorships.
