New master programme: Sustainable Textile Technologies and Outdoor Equipment from winter semester 2024/2025 in Chemnitz
We are pleased to announce that we have further developed our established Textile Structures and Technologies master degree programme to meet the current challenges and needs of our time. From the autumn, our Master's programme will be renamed Sustainable Textile Technologies and Outdoor Equipment.
This reorientation reflects our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the textile industry. Our updated curriculum offers students the opportunity to engage intensively with the latest developments and technologies in the field of sustainable textile production and outdoor equipment. From ecologically compatible materials to innovative production methods, they are empowered to develop solutions for today's and tomorrow's challenges.
Through practical projects, close co-operation with industry partners and an interdisciplinary approach, we prepare our students optimally for a career in a constantly changing and demanding industry. We look forward to offering this exciting study programme in Chemnitz from the winter semester 2024/2025 and to welcoming you as a participant at our university. Join us as we shape the future of sustainable textile technologies and outdoor equipment together.
The professorship
The department Textile Technologies was re-established in May 2014. We devote ourselves to textile issues ranging from classic apparel textiles to high performance textiles for example made of carbon or metallic materials. Our focus is process development for new applications, constructions and modifications of textile machinery as well as product development. Our main responsibility is the development of technical textiles aiming at fibre composites for textile reinforced concrete and metallic compounds.
Located in Saxony’s Manchester we maintain a unique network. Inter alia our partners are:

The TUCscicast with Prof. Cebulla offers a good insight into the topics of the professorship. We recommend it to anyone who wants to understand why jeans don't last as long as they used to and why textiles do so well in concrete.
