When should I arrive in Chemnitz?

Answer:

You should arrive well before the semester's teaching starts officially (around the 1 of October) but you can find the latest information here (in German) and look for o-phase because the student representative organise an orientation week which is very useful for you to find your way around the university and city.

Question:
Do I have to take a placement test in the English Department?

Answer:
Yes, every student who starts in the Department has to take the plasement test because it allows us to make sure that you get the right courses in practical teaching.

Question:
Why do I have the Semesterbeitrag which looks like a high tuition fee?

Answer:
because you have to pay the Semesterbeitrag because this allows students to travel in Saxony using almost all public means of transport which is very good value for money.

Are there other dates I have to bear in mind officially?

Answer:
