Who can do what: Mailbox access rights
Each mailbox and folder is provided with access rights that control the access of user e-mail programs via IMAP protocol. This makes it possible, for example, for a mailbox to be used by several users (without sharing a password, only with their personal usernames and passwords).
The standard access rights for personal mailboxes are:
Only the owner has full access to the mailbox, no one else. We advise against granting other users access rights to the personal mailbox or subfolders. However, in exceptional cases (e.g. deputising), the owner can grant other users certain access rights Make sure that you never grant authorisations for all authenticated users!
The default access rights for group mailboxes are:
The access rights can be changed via Webmail, see the description for SOGo „Where do you set access rights to group mailboxes?“. Make sure that you never grant authorisations (sharing…) for any authenticated users – except for the required „Post mails“!
