Timeline

To apply for an internship for the next year register yourself using the IAESTE Exchange Platform. The form is open for registrations from the begining of the winter semester until 31st December.
You also need to submit the following documents: CV, Transcript of Records in English, Proof of English Proficiency, and current Certificate of Enrollment of TU Chemnitz in English.

All IAESTE internships will be exchanged internationally at the General Conference (GC). A list of available places for Germany will be prepared.

All IAESTE internships acquired by IAESTE Germany will be exchanged between all the local comittees in Germany at the National Conference. Your desired internships mentioned in the online registration portal will be taken in to consideration during this exchange. After that the Chemnitz list will be prepared. This list includes all internship places available to student of Chemnitz University of Technology.

Late exchanges take place in the beginning of March. At this exchange all remaining free places will be once again exchanged between all the local comittees in Germany. For those, who could not submit the pre-registration before 31st December have a chance to apply for an internship at this late exchange. All internship specific applications must be submitted until 15th March.

There are often still some free internship places (Poolliste) or some internships offered according to the Late/ Early Offer guidlines. For these internships there are specific deadlines for submission of application.
Other than that, waiting for the screening result by the employer.

An acceptance or rejection from the employer should be received during these months. After this you can contact the IAESTE in the arrival country and now the employer. Now you should apply for a visa if applicable, book a flight ticket, buy insurance, get yourself vacinated, etc

During this time most IAESTE internships take place. Have a safe trip, enjoy your internship and work - experience and discover new surroundings!
