Financial Support

The internship is usually payed by the employer, so that the cost of living in the country can be covered. The paying out is always in cash at the end of the month. Travel costs, like visa or insurance, must be carried by the intern. However, there is an opportunity to get a grant for the travel costs outsidde of the EU.

Application for financial support for travelling outside Europe ('Fahrkostenzuschuss': Travelling Allowance ) can only be submitted online through the DAAD portal (https://portal.daad.de). This support is available for German students and students receiving Bafög.
