Objective of the study programme is to qualify the students to autonomous and responsible scientific-technical work. Due to the combination of engineering scientific, sport technological and sports scientific contents the students are trained for the various activities of sports equipment development, -inspection and –maintenance.

By resumption of the study programme in the consecutive Master degree programme the field for the graduates extends to the areas of Research and Development. Therefore the students are advised to apply for the Master degree programme Sports Engineering after graduating their Bachelor programme. If there is a wish for a subject-specific reorientation after the Bachelor’s degree there is a possibility for the students to proceed with the study programmes Human Movement Science, lightweight construction or mechanical engineering.

The students of the Bachelor programme will be trained substantially in mathematical, nature- and engineering scientific contents. This is underpinned by biomechanical, movement-scientific, training-scientific, sports medical and social-scientific teaching contents. The theoretical knowledge will be used in seminars and practical work in order to obtain occupational qualifications. Preliminary for the Bachelor thesis the students autonomously work on a scientific- technical problem as part of a project work.
