Sports Engineering at TU Chemnitz

In the study programme, Sports Engineering (Bachelor and Master) students obtain a broad knowledge of all substantial engineering sciences, as well as a profound insight into the functionality of the human body. This internationally unique combination of know-how and interdisciplinary competencies prepares the graduates for various areas of activity in industry and research in many fields from sports and leisure equipment, to automotive industries, and medical technology. In more and more products, the quality of the interaction with the user defines success more than the mere technical function. Regardless of whether it is a bicycle, running shoe, skis, a car seat or a knee orthosis – the crucial question is “how well does the technology suit the human?” A graduate of the study programme Sports Engineering is able to not only answer this question but also has the knowledge and skills to design technology suitable for the moving human body.
