On April 12, 2024, Doctor Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel from Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany), invited by Marianna Kichurchak, Professor at the Department of Economy of Ukraine, held the online lecture “Innovation Systems-2” for the first-year students of the educational programmes “International Economics” (11:50 a.m. – 13:10 p.m.) and “Business Economics” (13:30 p.m. – 14:50 p.m.) at the Faculty of Economics, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. The guest lecture was delivered as part of the “Economy of Ukraine” course.
Doctor Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel’s lecture attracted attention not only from first-year students but also from professors and associate professors of the Department of Economic Theory, as well as senior students from the Faculty of Economics. Notably, Professor Ostap Vatamaniuk, Associate Professors Tetiana Moriak, and Solomiia Kudyn demonstrated significant interest in the lecture.
During the lecture, students acquired valuable insights into the nature and classifications of innovation, innovative management, innovation systems at different levels, and various types, as well as national approaches to fostering such systems. Doctor Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel shared findings from her academic research, focusing on the analysis and implementation methods of social innovations designed to address pressing acute social issues within the Chemnitz community.
The presentations, kindly provided by Doctor Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel’s, have been incorporated into the syllabus of the “Economy of Ukraine” course. This integration enhances the opportunity for economics students to develop their competencies in understanding the nature of innovation-driven development within Ukraine’s economy.
Doctor Anja Herrmann-Fankhänel has generously provided the presentation for her lecture to be uploaded to the LNU digital e-learning platform. The lecture materials will be integrated into the “Economy of Ukraine” course, aimed at developing the competencies of students to help them understand the nature of innovation-driven development in Ukraine’s economy.
