The university is known for its strong research focus, state-of-the-art facilities, and excellent academic programs that provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. This made it the perfect place for me to develop my expertise and build a solid foundation for my career. Aside from academics, the city of Chemnitz itself was a key factor in my decision. Compared to other German cities, Chemnitz offers reasonably priced student accommodation, making it an affordable option for international students. Additionally, the quiet and peaceful nature of the city creates an ideal environment for studying, allowing me to stay focused and make the most of my university experience.
Which aspects of your stay in Chemnitz do you think have been most beneficial to your career development? The Master’s program in Advanced Manufacturing at TU Chemnitz was well-structured, providing a strong balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application. One of the most valuable aspects of my studies was the opportunity to undertake an internship or a research project during the program. This hands-on experience allowed me to gain practical insights into the industry, which proved to be incredibly beneficial for my career development. Additionally, several subjects I studied have had a direct impact on my current role as a Quality Engineer. Courses such as Geometrical Positioning and Specifications, Machining Technologies, and Machine Tools provided me with essential knowledge that I now apply in my daily work. My Master’s thesis, which focused on Quality Management, was another key learning experience. With excellent supervision and guidance, I was able to deepen my expertise in this field, further preparing me for my professional journey. Another crucial aspect that contributed to my career development was the support provided by the university’s Career Service Office. From the early stages of job searching to securing a position, the office played an essential role in guiding me through the process. They provided invaluable assistance in constructing a well-structured CV and cover letter, as well as offering insights into job applications and interview preparation. Their support was instrumental in helping me transition smoothly from academia to the professional world.

What is your favourite memory of Chemnitz? One of my favorite memories of Chemnitz is the vibrant student life and the various activities organized by the university for international students. The university regularly arranged trips to nearby cities and local sightseeing tours, which gave me the chance to explore German culture, history, and nature while making new friends along the way. These experiences made my time in Chemnitz even more enjoyable and enriching. I also cherish the time I spent with the student clubs, such as SMD and other international groups, where I met amazing people from different backgrounds. Some of the friendships I built during these activities have lasted even beyond my studies, and I am grateful for the strong connections I made. The student dorms was another highlight, as they were conveniently located near the campus, making daily life much easier. And, of course, one of my favorite spots in the city was the university library. It was the perfect place to focus on my studies, with its quiet atmosphere, a variety of seating options, dedicated quiet zones, and group study areas. Whether studying alone or collaborating with classmates, the library provided the ideal environment for productivity and learning.
What are your future plans and ambitions? My main goal is to continue growing in my career as a Quality Engineer. I aim to deepen my expertise in quality management systems, process optimization, and advanced manufacturing technologies to contribute more effectively to my company’s success. Additionally, I am eager to gain further experience in areas such as Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and auditing processes to enhance my problem-solving skills and improve overall product quality. In the long run, I aspire to take on more leadership responsibilities within the field, possibly moving into a managerial role where I can drive continuous improvement initiatives and mentor others in quality assurance. I believe that ongoing learning and professional development are key to achieving these ambitions, and I plan to continue expanding my knowledge through certifications, training programs, and hands-on experience in the industry.
