University Library
Main task of a university library is to provide the members of the university, from rector to the student, as well as the interested public with relevant literature as comprehensively as possible.
In most cases, university libraries are subdivided into different departments. The university library is the central institution of a one-track library system in which there are no specialist or institute libraries. In most cases, the library is divided in different areas that one should be familiar with: the open access holdings contains books that can be borrowed and reference copies that cannot be borrowed but can be used within the library. In the stacked collection there are often reference books but also borrowable books, which have to be ordered from the library staff.
In the following tutorial you will get an insight into Chemnitz University Library (German only), which will serve as an example here.
