International Online Study Tour (18.09.23 - 21.09.23)

Smart.Eco International Online Study Tour, which took place from September 18th to 21st, 2023, represented a significant stride in the realm of environmental sustainability. This immersive experience transcended geographical boundaries, as the entire tour was conducted through video conferencing. Our team meticulously curated a dynamic agenda, featuring presentations and panel discussions that explored cutting-edge topics across various fields. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from esteemed universities in Germany, France, India, Jordan, and Qatar. Attendees ranged from distinguished professors, edicated researchers, and ambitious Ph.D. students to expert engineers and eager undergraduates. This diverse cohort actively engaged in knowledge exchange and collaborative efforts, fostering innovation in the pursuit of a more sustainable future.

The tour featured a dynamic program with a wide range of topics presented by distinguished experts. Dr. Omkar Halbe, a senior scientist at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), India, opened the event with a presentation on "Systems Engineering Practices for Autonomous Drone Development." We were also privileged to have Dr.-Ing. Norbert Englisch of neocx GmbH, Germany, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hazem Wannous from the University of Lille, France, providing valuable on "Unveiling Human Behavior: exploring human-centered AI through image data analysis." Lara Krampe, representing Droniq GmbH, Germany, addressed the audience on "Managing Flying Robots and Conventional Aircraft in Shared Airspace." Azad Ibn Ashraf, a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering at UDST in Qatar, shared his expertise on "Life Cycle Assessment and AI for Climate Change Mitigation." Eng. Mohammad Alfarajat, from the Department of Aeronautics and Drone Systems at the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), Jordan, offered insights into "Developing Drones for Various Purposes." Lastly, Eng. Lujain Hijazi, Head of Research and Organizational Development at Sager Drone, presented on "Elevating ESG: Sager's Geospatial Intelligence Revolution for Sustainable Solutions." This diverse and comprehensive agenda facilitated in-depth discussions on crucial topics related to environmental sustainability and technological advancements.
